Default Dye and Armor Preview Advanced

We already have the Dye preview, which is a COMPLETE blessing *just sits there for a second to relish in thought of the amount of saved money* and people have speculated about the Armor preview already. (I'd post links but..easier if you just search "Armor Preview" :P)

Yeah, for armor mixing I could use Photoshop or whatever and try to find screens of characters that are close to the same height and same pose and crop and paste and edit that way but...the issue is finding similar screens to work with.

However, my suggestion goes beyond what has been said and done. It's kinna complicated so I'm gonna separate it into parts.

---------------------

Dye Preview Advanced

Okay so we have our wonderful dye preview already implemented into the game, but I think it could be a lot better. Don't get me wrong, I looove it. But here are my following suggestions:

1) More slots available for dyes (I'm not asking much..maybe 7 slots).

I just find myself wanting to use just ONE more color to see if I can get the tint right. And I don't know if this happened to anyone, but after I dyed my armor a certain color and went to the dye preview again to apply more colors to mix it, the color of the armor that was in the dye preview was NOT the same color as it came out. In fact, it treated the already dyed armor as if it was undyed o.O I haven't tried it again (i wasted 3 blacks cos of it.....that would deter ANYONE >_>) so maybe it's fixed now but I'm not sure. Anyway, back onto the lists.

2 & 3) Be able to choose the armor piece in the window as well as be able to see the complete product in the end. Also be able to use just one vial to represent the dye being used more than once rather than having 3 dyes to add 3 of the same color.

Currently the Dye preview can only show just that one piece of armor you want to apply and you have to exit out and click on the new piece to see the next piece. You also can't see the whole complete product so if you're using different colors on certain areas you won't know how it looks until after you dyed the thing. And if you screw up...well more money gone.

The preview box could have like tabs or check boxes at the top saying "Head" "Chest" "Arms" etc. and you could choose between them like that. Whatever dye you had used on one part will be saved. And this is also where the second part of this suggestion comes in: You can use the same vial of dye more than once.

Don't you hate it if you want to use like 2 or 3 vials of the same color but you only have one so you try and either borrow or buy another and then just don't like it? Well, this way you can just have that one vial and be able to use it on every option, even more than once. You would still have to buy the number of vials necessary, but this is still a preview and it would still help. If you tried to click okay and you don't have enough vials, an "error" message would pop up on the little preview screen ("Not enough Vials" or something).

You would also be able to see a finished preview in another tab or checkbox or something. All previous modifications would be saved within the preview so nothing is lost and you can always go back to it.

---------------------

Armor Preview Advanced

1) Armor Preview person at crafters.

Several people have already suggested this, but it's sorta a given to have it in this suggestion ^^; So nothing new, don't flame me for suggesting it cos I've already recognized that it's been said. It just sorta has to be here to make the outline more complete. Most everyone knows what I'm talking about so I won't bother to explain (if explanation is needed, however, I am more than happy to either redirect you to a thread or just come up with one in here).

I'm going to expand it a little, though. This is sorta gonna sound like the Armor Mixer preview that follows. You have the window, however it's designed, but you see your current armor and then you can select which armor piece the armorer has in case you only want to buy part of it. Then there's always the "complete" armor preview at the end.

2) Armor Mixer preview.

This idea has also been tossed out BUT I'm going to go farther with it. This is almost one of my more debatable ones so I'm iunno how well it'll go ^^;

Basically, (and I might be piggybacking on some other people) you have some sort of function, be it an NPC or something from within your own inventory window, that would open a window similar to the Dye Preview or PVP character armor window. That's the easy part. Here's the more questionable and up to debate part:

You can either see every armor available within that campaign and have a separate NPC located somewhere else (like in major cities like Kaineng and Lions and Kamadan) to show other armor OR the armor available can progress as you continue through the game. This might be slightly contradictory of the whole idea, though, so I don't know. Or you have to do stuff to unlock them *shrugs* Just tossing out ideas.

I think the look of the window, in terms of choosing the armor pieces and what not, would be a combo of my previously stated Advanced Dye Preview and the current Guild Emblem preview. You can scroll through the different sets and you can choose via the tabs which part of the body to narrow it down. And then you have the whole body preview to see how it would look altogether. The armor would also be undyed. However, the colored version is described below.

---------------------

Armor and Dye Combo Preview

This is the big one. Basically we all know that the armor come in different materials and this can be a PAIN in dying (I learned this the hard way when I dye previewing the regular sunspear armor and 15k sunspear mix..). So why not make things less frustrating by having a dye preview as well with the armor mixer preview. The originaly idea is that it was undyed and you use the dye preview later. But this might save more money if you know how it would look like colored with the different materials. Setup would be the same as the Armor mixer, only you can also add vials of dye, and that would act like my previously stated dye preview.

---------------------

*PHEW* And that's that. It's a long post, I know, but I figured the more detail, the better, and I hope there's less confusion instead of more xD You can either post about all parts or one part, doesn't matter with me as long as I know what you're talking about.

Flames, opinions, any drawbacks, what have ye, go ahead :O Like I said this is an expanded version of what everyone has basically said so it's not the exact same as others.

*shrugs* but it's what you think in the end. Have fun.

Just fyi, you can only mix 4 dyes. Any more than that doesn't affect the color of the mixture. That's why there's only 4 slots on the preview screen.

And yes, dying your armor again makes it assume that it had no dye on it to begin with, so you don't have to keep buying grey dyes every time you want to change color.

That's what I thought, on both counts. But for the second part, the dye DOES mix instead of turning it to the color as if you never bought the grey dye, at least that's what happened to me o_o

Just to let you know, if you are viewing a piece of armor in the dye window with your 4 dye combo then you go to your item window and pick up another piece and drag it to the dye window it will changed views without closing and reopening the windows. You can even drag armor you are not even wearing and it will change views as if you were wearing it.
